405 POUND DEADLIFT

Happy Valentine’s Day

Today I hit a new personal record on deadlifting!

405 POUNDS!

I haven’t been deadlifting consistently these past few weeks.  I deadlifted 225 pounds earlier this week but before then, I hadn’t in a few weeks.  I didnt plan to lift or record this today.  It just happened.  I left my go pro at home.  That’s how you know this wasn’t planned.

I was fully rested & felt I could go for it.  I did a standard warm up set of 135 pounds for 10 reps.  Followed up by 2 sets of 5 with 225 pounds.  I followed that up with 2 sets of 1 rep of 315 pounds.

I took my shoes off for better stability after those sets.  I wanted to be grounded as much as possible.  This was actually my second set.  The first set I didn’t record because I didn’t think to ask anyone.  In this day, if you don’t record your PR’s, they don’t count.  Wise words from Mr. Mike Rashid (fwd to 5:33 mark).  This second set I made sure I asked someone to record it for me.  They did and I thank them for it.   Big ups to Ben for helping me out!

Getting this up felt great.  If I am consistent and train harder, my next goal of 450 POUNDS will come soon.
