2 HOURS OF CARDIO, MEAL PREP, and PERISCOPE
As much as I wanted to blog yesterday I just didn’t make it a priority. I had it in my head to do. You know they always say it’s the thought that counts right. So I will tell you about my Saturday and how it went.
After loathing around my apartment for a few hours I battled with myself about going to the gym or later. It was about 930 or 945 before I decided to make my way to the gym. I periscoped about it. I’m really enjoying that app and learning how to be myself on there. It’s actually help me shoot better fully edited YouTube videos. I upload some of my periscope videos to YouTube just to show me in the raw essence of who I am. I’ve gotten a few request about making a blooper reel or video which I don’t agree with or understand why someone would need to see that. Here’s my happy medium for that. This is more of a behind the scenes type of deal in my eyes.
My cardio session went as such. I did 60 minutes on the stair climber. The first 40 minutes I was on level 8. Then for the next 10 minutes after that I went down to level 5. Then my last 10 minutes I shot up to level 10. I have not done 60 minutes on the stair climber in months. I moved over to the elliptical which I planned to do for one hour but I forgot to set the timer for 60 minutes. My workout got cut short to just 20 minutes. It takes too long for the system to reset so I could go another 40 minutes. I decided to go to the stationary bike for 10 minutes. I have 30 minutes left so I did a 30 minute speed walk on the treadmill. 20 minutes of of that I had an incline of 10% and a speed of 3.5. I have not done two hours of cardio in probably 8 to 9 months. It’s very tough to get that amount of cardio in with the amount of weights that I want to lift. I would literally have to quit my job in order to get this done. That would not be a bad idea since I do love everything about fitness and working out. You control every aspect about it. It’s more body sculpting which is so fun to me. I was able to catch up on my tv shows, Green Arrow & The Flash. The Flash is up against something big and it scares me! lol
After working out I made a juice recipe when I got home which consisted of
- Oranges- 1 bag
- Pink Lady Apples- 1 bag
- Whole Carrots- 1 bag
- Cucumbers- 4
I move on to start making some turkey bone broth from the leftover bones that I saved from deboning the turkey I smoked a few days ago. This is going to be so good to drink and add to some homemade soups.
I then start preparing a turkey to go on the smoker. Yes I had another turkey to put on the smoker because I had purchased two Tuesday evening. I decided to go ahead and cook it for some family members since this is what we all do for the holidays. We cook for each other. That’s gonna take 6 hours alone.
While that’s going, I start meal prepping some quinoa broccolini and some leftover turkey from my previous cook.
Now that that’s bagged and tagged I start making my ginger lemon green tea.
I know that seems like a lot to do all in one day but I just wanted to get prepared for the next few days. Gotta get myself back on track after this holiday weekend. This is the part that no one wants to do is spend the time in the kitchen preparing your meals. Since I’m always in the kitchen, it does not bother me. I’ll take that back. The only thing that bothers me is cleaning up afterwards.
The best part about this day is that my nieces and nephew came over to spend the night. You know I had to go all out for them. I put some hotdogs on the smoker for them and they had cake, ice cream and chips lol. The holidays are challenging for me at times. This year hit me harder than normal. I like keeping them around because they always reset me. Seeing them play and talking to them keeps me calm. I feel the spirit of my mother in them so maybe that’s why.
