HOW DID YOU SPEND YOUR THANKSGIVING?
I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving! I hope you ate as much as you would like. I want to know how did you spend your Thanksgiving. What did you have to eat? I live vicariously through people when they tell me about what food they ate because I can imagine myself eating it as well LOL. This is not about guilt or trying to be super health-conscious today or even being ashamed of what you’ve eaten. We are human. This is about enjoying yourselves!
It’s Black Friday one of the most craziest days of the here in the states. Hours before midnight hits, everybody was in reflection mode of what they are thankful for and spent their times with friends and family over delicious foods. After all that was said and done here comes Black Friday where you see people pushing each other, slapping people, fighting people over items they still have to buy. Now mind you none of this stuff is free. It’s all items that you still have to purchase with your own money. I don’t understand the logic in rushing to spend money. Even if it’s at a cheap price, I’m still spending money. Maybe that’s me. I just don’t really like to spend money like that, even if it’s at a discounted rate.
Here’s a turkey I smoked for 6 hours Wednesday night.
This is how I spent my Thanksgiving. I did go to the gym. I went to planet fitness because golds gym was closed. I was pretty upset about that. Well I’m just thankful that planet fitness was open. Just because I worked out on Thanksgiving does not mean that I am better than anyone who didn’t. It just means that the people who did not work out on Thanksgiving probably had something better to do than I did. I was bored and I really wanted to get this workout in because I felt I could make some gains in the gym.
My Thanksgiving Workout
- 10 mins stairclimber
- 20 min elliptical
WEIGHTS: TRICEPS & CHEST
- ONE ARM DUMBBELL OVERHEAD EXTENSIONS 4(25)
- DUMBBELL KICK BACKS 4(25)
- OVERHEAD ROPE CABLE EXTENSIONS 4(25)
- BODY DIPS 4(25)
- INCLINE BENCH PRESS (I don’t like putting the weight that I did it on my work out because I don’t want to seem like I’m showing off but this is the way I break down this workout)
- 135 2(8)
- 225 3(10)
- 275 3(3)
- 315 3(1)
- HIGH CABLE CROSS OVERS 4(25)
- LOW CABLE CROSS OVERS 4(25)
- MID CABLE CROSS OVERS 4(25)
- INCLINE HAMMER STRENGTH PRESS 4(25)
After this chest workout I felt really pumped up. My vanity took over me, so I looked at myself in the mirror with my shirt off and started seeing the striations in my chest and I felt proud. I’ve been really trying to hone in on the strength of my chest because I am working on getting my bench press up. I’ve been having some elbow issues in my right elbow which causes some severe pain when I extend with weights. It’s gotten better over the past few weeks. I’m able to endure longer on chest days and increase my weight.
My Thanksgiving dinner consisted of going to the Golden Corral (a Buffett). By the time I went I was so hungry! It had been a few hours after I worked out by the time I got there. My first plate I had mashed potatoes with gravy. I love their mashed potatoes!!! I picked up some fried jumbo shrimp and chopped steak with a little bit of broccoli. That was plate number one. My second plate I had some fried fish, fried chicken, more mashed potatoes and gravy, and a little bit of macaroni. I almost forgot I had some cabbage and carrots with cornbread. I didn’t care for the fish or the chicken. I just took one bite out of each. The macaroni wasn’t all that great either. Now their cabbage and their corn bread was delicious, as well as their carrots. Those are my highlights and not even from the standpoint of I’m trying to eat healthy. Eating healthy with the last thing on my mind yesterday LOL.
I’m going back for third play of just cabbage with this cornbread. I also had some stuffing with cranberry sauce. Now they called it pudding corn bread because it was very dense and sweet. It had whole corn in it too. I mixed that in with my cabbage. That brought back some memories of Thanksgiving with my family. I moved onto dessert after that. I had a slice of cheesecake and half of a brownie. The brownie was just OK but the cheesecake was pretty good. I was so full after that that I could barely make it to the car to go home.
When I got home all I wanted to do was take a nap. When I woke up I had two gigantic slices of cake that I had waiting. I ate that with a little bit of ice cream that was pretty much melted because I forgot it in the trunk of my car. At this point all I want to do is just lay back down in my bed and go to sleep which I did.
Let me know how you spent your Thanksgiving. I have a date with a stairclimber today but I may be late, or it may get stood up lol!

Great to hear about your Thanksgiving. Where I live, Thanksgiving isn’t a holiday. It’s just a regular day :). So I went to work and went to the gym (It was a normal day anyway haha).
I am happy you had a beautiful Thanksgiving do what you enjoy and having a good time. I spent mine working out in the early morning at home and then preparing my dish for our family together, I pretty much had more protein on my plate than anything else. I had the Turkey drumstick, mac and cheese, corn bread, and greens. That was all, and only got one serving, the Turkey filled me up! which is what I wanted to happen. Also, I had a small slice of cheesecake. I had to work that evening, but all went very well. Thank you for asking.
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. That’s what it’s all about.
