COFFEE, CARDIO, AND CLIENTS
It’s 6am and I woke up on the wrong side of bed. Seems its happening more often than not as of late. I believe it’s when reality kicks in that I have to adult. The weight of the world is on my shoulders. No different than you. I wake up and my mind starts wondering all kinds of things. I’m like I don’t feel like doing this. I just wanna sleep in lol. Reality is, I have to stop being a cry baby, get myself going because I have a client to train this morning.
I knew I needed a pick me up before I headed to the gym this morning. I debated whether to go online with Uber or workout, then Uber later. I went to the gas station, put $15 on pump 9, and got some coffee. I’m not too specific like dark roast, or light roast, I know I needed some coffee. I got a medium cup then three quarters filled it with the Columbian dark roast. The last quarter cup, I used the iced coffee, salted caramel. I didn’t want my coffee too hot. I wanted it right then and there. To top it off, I added the caffeine shot for an extra boost. If you can’t find these caffeine shots in your local gas station, I would suggest you show them this picture to have them put em in stock.
While pumping gas I made the choice to just head to the gym to get my morning workout in. The plan was to workout, then train my client who was due to come in at 9am. It’s very important while training clients, I’m in a good mood. I have to be the motivated energizer bunny that will help push them through their workout. They could be in a funky mental space too. Coming to the gym may help them get out of that funk. Knowing that, I know myself. I have to get my mind right first thing in the morning. What better way than to get a workout in. At this point I’m feeling the extra caffeinated coffee kick in. The stair climber will not defeat me today. I’ve been doing about 20 mins, twice this week. I know I should have done more days, but that’s in the past, and here I am.
I have to play catch up with ARROW on the CW app I have on the phone. If you don’t watch Arrow, you should. I highly recommend it. 20 mins goes by and I’m feeling good. My sweat is all over this machine. I’m like lets go for 10 more minutes. Watching a show while doing cardio makes the time fly by. 10 minutes is up. I wipe down the equipment because I’m not a gym slob lol. I then make my way over to the elliptical to finish my show I’ve been watching. I think I’m starting to like Diggle being the Green Arrow now. He fits the suit. I knock out 30 minutes on the elliptical while finishing the show. I feel great now. 60 minutes of cardio is in the books. I have a half an hour until my 9am shows up. Time for more coffee and lets see what’s on youtube.
My 9am is here and its LEG DAY!!! We will super set Legs & Biceps. He looks super excited about it (sarcastic). I’m wired though. It’s early in the morning for him, but he has no clue I’m off 2 cups of coffee, and an hour of cardio. My mind is right at this moment. So what do I do, I shake him and yell ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?! I have him super setting hamstrings and quad extensions, going from one machine to the next. I’m full of energy at this moment. We move over to barbell squats, super setting with leg presses. At this point his legs are like cooked noodles lol. Lets move to bicep curls. The inner in CT Fletcher is kicking and since we are the only ones it seems in the weight room I’m yelling CURL! CURL!! CURL!!! The energy is on 10 right now. We get through his workout and he’s worn out. Good! My job is done, now it’s time to go home and take care of everything I need to in this adult life.
