#SundayConfessions 11-19-17 | WHAT HAPPENED TO MONDAY?

No I’m not talking about that Netflix original movie. Even though it was a very good movie. When you have some downtime I would recommend it. What I mean when I ask, WHAT HAPPENED TO MONDAY is this. It’s the end of the week. Let’s say it’s Friday. You reflect on the declaration of the healthy changes you made this past Sunday, saying I’M GOING TO START MONDAY. You tell yourself, I’m going to change the way I eat, I’m going to up the intensity of my workouts, I’m going to make sure I get my one gallon of water in, etc. It’s now Friday and you’ve done less than half of what you set out to do.

In some cases you could have done more than half that was on your declaration list, but you didn’t complete all of it. This can be viewed as a victory or a loss. It depends where you are when it comes to being hard on yourself. What I’m trying to get at still is, WHAT HAPPENED TO MONDAY? What happened to this new you? What happened to everything is going to be different for the better this time around? What really happened is what you have to ask yourself.

I know unforeseen situations pop up during the week. This is called LIFE. Life happens. I get it. Been there done that. This is something you’re just going to have to adapt to. When these situations happen, you have to learn how to adjust so they won’t knock you completely off your square. You have to WANT to reach your goals more than letting excuses get in your way. I’ve been there before where I make up excuses to why I didn’t meal prep, I didn’t go workout, I didn’t stick to my positive affirmations. I understand that life happens. You have to want those goals more than the excuse of LIFE HAPPENS. It’s understandable but you have to be tough on yourself to make sure you’re persistent at reaching your fitness goals.

It’s the end of the week, and I understand that question, WHAT HAPPEN TO MONDAY? Lord willing, come Sunday, you make that same declaration again. STARTING MONDAY, I’M GOING TO CHANGE MY LIFE FOR THE BETTER, THIS IS HOW… It also be this, maybe last week you had too many goals. It could be you set out ten goals or changes you wanted to make and it could have been too much. Try to cut that down this week at least three. Try to make sure you accomplish those three by the end of the week. Next week, add two more goals now that you have those three locked in (stay consistent with those) and build from there. Keep adding on goals week after week until you’ll look back then realize you’ve hit all of the goals that you set out to do weeks ago.

This healthy lifestyle change is not overnight. It will take love, patience and time. By the way, that’s a great song by Eric Benet. In this day and age there is visual pressure via social media of body goals that someone else has to achieve. You may think you want those same goals, but those are not yours. You have to stick to your guns in what you want. Don’t let the desires of others cloud your vision in what you want. If you need to unplug yourself from social media, then go for it. Isolation during weight loss is something you may have to go through. It’s ok if no one else understands it. As long as you do, that’s all that matters. Always keep pushing yourself to do better. Remember, each day is a new day to do something new. If you mess up today, Lord willing, tomorrow you have a chance to learn from today to make tomorrow better. Life is all about learning.
