#ThursdayThoughts – SITCHO BUTT DOWN!
SITCHO BUTT DOWN!
SITCHO BUTT DOWN!!! Something I have to tell myself every so often. We all need rest day(s). Day(s) where we just sit down and smell the roses while we can. There is nothing wrong with rest and recuperation. In the quest to a healthier lifestyle, the idea of sitting down and resting strikes fear in me sometimes. I’m like, if I sit down then I’ll feel like a lazy bum, a sloth, slacker, quitter. This comes from me wanting to be better than I was yesterday. Always striving for success. I have to deal with the facts that I need to take time for myself. There are some weeks where I can’t remember how many rest days I’ve had, if any.
I get to a point where I’m trying to do so many things at once I don’t look at what I’ve done. I always feel the need to do more. Whether it’s working out, or getting things together for this blog. I just feel the need to do more. I try not to dwell on what I’ve done because that’s when I become complacent. Complacency is equivalent, and will turn into laziness for me. I’m speaking from personal experience. I’ve been there.
When I come from my slacking spell, I have a new set of goals for myself. So in a way, it works out and keeps me fresh. I like having goals so I can obtain them. Some are short term, some are long term. Either way, after sitting down for a day or so, I have clarity. Clarity provides vision for where I want to be. I can’t get clarity when I’m constantly in work mode. I enjoy work mode at the same time. Especially when I am passionate. My passion at this point is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. If I can give you insight on that, and that insight provides you inspiration to become a better you, then that’s a plus in my book.
Nothing in life comes without work. In the midst of this work, rest is important. My advice for you, and advice that I have to remind myself, SITCHO BUTT DOWN!
