#ThursdayThoughts – YOU WILL ALWAYS BE POOR

atitude

Attitude not aptitude, will determine your altitude
I never understood that quote when I was young but now that I’ve gotten wiser in my years I fully understand it.  Your mindset determines where you go in life.  It doesn’t matter how smart your are or aren’t.  As long as you have a positive attitude, you will go far.  That’s is a general statement, but if you think about it, it’s true.  Your positive attitude will cause you to attract better situations in life.  I totally believe in the law of attraction.

“The poor you will always have with you.”  That’s part of a scripture that I’ve taken a better look at these days.  In my interpretation I believe it’s saying people will be poor minded, so those type of people will always be around.  It’s not so much there’s no faith in people, but it takes a while for people to adjust their attitudes.  Unless they adjust their attitudes in a prosperous way, the poor you will always have with you.

In the world of fitness/health (whatever you want to classify it as) you can not have a poor attitude.  This will stagnate your progress.  If you approach everything in this field with a “I don’t care” attitude then what’s the purpose of doing it?  Why put yourself through it if you’re just going through the motions? It’s all about having a positive mindset.  That’s the only way you’re going to overcome anything in life.

I’m pretty sure you’ve joined a workout/fitness community on your social network, as well as I have.  We are all there for support.  We post pictures/videos for motivation and personal accountability.  It’s always that one person who comes critique what you’re doing like they’re getting paid from your pockets to give that assessment.  If people aren’t lifting you up, then they’re poor.  I’ve experienced it myself and I’m learning to deal with it and not fall into the trap of responding negatively.  It’s not so much people can’t say anything to me, but at this point in all of our journeys we need more uplifting.  If I (we) fall into the trap of getting angry and responding negatively then how am I any different of being mentally poor than the person who’s being the critic?

I hope you got something out of this post.  The point I’m trying to convey is change your attitude to make progress.  Do you want to be part of the poor community or would you rather be rich and prosperous, mentally?  Think big, dream big, execute big!  Surround yourself with positivity.  Surround yourself with people that will lift you up.  Go out there and be great!!  Seize the day! Seize life!
