It’s not so much a disrespectful thing to say, as it is, the ACTION. I’m going to have a few of them. The one that takes it for me is, people will have this conversation with you explaining their fitness goals, and how they’re ready to get back to working out.
You as the trainer, go through the logistical steps to get them set up. Contracts are emailed, and they go as far as to fill them out. The last step is payment. They get all of the way there and you never hear from them again.
Why go through filling out your forms, and contracts, just to ghost me after. I’ve seen where some will have the courtesy to email you and explain at the time how financially it won’t workout for them.
You knew that prior to writing me about hiring me as your personal trainer. Then you begin to think of other motives they may have had as the reason to contact you. A lot of times it’s for every other reason other than personal training. Trust me I’ve seen this a lot. Every time it does happen, I’m always in shock that people will go that far.
Now you’re messing with my money as well as my emotions. You think you’re gonna have this chunk of money to go towards a bill (well at least for me) and to only find out you won’t get a penny that you thought you were.
I understand life happens, just don’t play with someone else’s money. That’s like you going to work after getting ready, driving to the workplace and they tell you to go home because they don’t have any work for you. I’ve experience that senecio as well working at fast food joint s growing up. Look I’m not a kid anymore. Don’t waste my time.
This is how I make a living. I’ll be honest, the flip side to a lot of personal training is you can tell when a client wants to more than a client. You see flirtatious situations and you keep it moving.
Once they see you’re not going any farther in their advance, they back away. As they back away, so does their money. So the only reason you inquired about personal training is to see if you could get on with me?? Since you can’t, now you don’t want personal training? Dealing with all that craziness, is only a small percentage. That small percentage, is still money you were counting on that didn’t get it.
I appreciate all of my paying clients. You have to realize the ones that don’t pay, simply are not your ideal client. It’s a tough world out here at times in my profession. When sale falls through, personally, I check myself to see if I did anything wrong. How could I prevent this from happening the next time someone inquires about my services. I have to understand, it’s just business, not personal. Or is it???
