#ThursdayThoughts – BE YOUR OWN MOTIVATION

#ThursdayThoughts – BE YOUR OWN MOTIVATION

So many times we look to others for motivation.  We look for others to inspire us before looking into the mirror.  Looking back on our past achievements is sure proof that since you did it then you sure can do it again.

Lately I’ve been looking back at my old videos and pictures to see where I was physically when I first started this blog.  I was a lot lighter and leaner.  I admit where I am now is not what I was then.   I’ve gotten down about it.  I felt like I let you down.  That emotion right there is not going to keep me down.  It’s like what am I going to do with that information now?  Am I going to cry and mope about it or get back to the grind?

I made a post a few months back called CHASING GHOSTS which I don’t want to contradict myself here.  Yes, the desire to be that fit and lean person again I want.  Chasing after it now because I saw what the end results of my hard work was is motivation.  That’s something I accomplished.

In all honesty I didn’t expect to lose that amount of weight.  I didn’t expect to look lean like I did.  I was losing weight blindly.  I was working out so hard because I was running away from being that 400 plus pound man I was before.  I literally had to be told “Hey that’s enough.  You’ve lost the weight.  Look at what you did.”

This time around I can see the fruits of my labor then and want that again now.  Now there’s a goal.  I know what I did to get there, so let’s try to recreate that same formula to get there.  Believe you me I’ve tried and seen the results.  I get hard headed and report back to old habits.

I have to do something different this time around.  I have to be smarter by allocating my time in the best way.  In 2013/2014 I had all the time in the world plus financial resources to reach my goal.  This time is slightly different but there is still a way to do it.  It will get done.

Looking back at pictures or videos of yourself when you were in better shape than you are now should be the only motivation you need.  Remember if you did it before you can do it again.
