WHY I DIDN’T VOTE FOR HILARY

WHY I DIDN’T VOTE FOR HILARY

PRESIDENT ELECT

It was only a matter of time before I addressed this issue.  I wouldn’t be real if I didn’t.  It’s not so much that I try to stay out of politics, but here’s the reason WHY I DIDN’T VOTE FOR HILARY.  I didn’t vote for Hilary because I didn’t want to vote against Trump.  I didn’t vote for Hilary because I was afraid America was going to turn in to Nazi Germany.  I VOTED FOR HILARY because I felt she had congressional experience and had earned her spot to be.  There’s nothing like working towards something and being over looked when you’re qualified.  I was on the fence for a few weeks, but when I got to the booth to cast my ballot, in my head I’m like, “Right is Right.”

I am not upset that Trump won at all.  I look at it like maybe it’s time for something different.  It made me feel like I could be President if it was in my heart to do.  America has and always will be a great country of opportunities.  Just because someone doesn’t open the door when you knock, doesn’t mean that’s the last door to be knocked on.  It also doesn’t mean that door can’t be kicked down.  It’s the mentality that I have.  I will keep asking, but after a while, you have to take things by force if you want something in life.  I’m not promoting rape culture, or violence, but in a metaphorical sense, you just have to demand what you want.  Someone telling you NO all the time, can, at least for me, spark a fire inside of me to change some things up and approach the situation from a different angle.  You know, change my mode of attack.  At some point, you gotta believe in yourself enough to know that, eventually that NO will turn into a YES.

Over the past few weeks on social media as well as news, I’ve seen more division because of this voting situation.  I’ve personally gotten into a few debates, with friends, co workers, as well as some family.  I had to take a step back and laugh at it all because life will go on.  Do I think voting is important?  Yes.  It’s a RIGHT, not an OBLIGATION.  It’s an obligation for me to pay taxes out of my paycheck that I work 40 long hours a week for.  I have the RIGHT to work.  Two totally different things.

These people I’ve gotten into debates with promoted this simple action of just VOTE.  YOUR VOTE MATTERS.  I kept flashing back to the BUSH
/GORE election of 2000 when the election was stolen from Gore.  He clearly won the popular vote.  The electoral vote, he lost.  But wait…you told me just to VOTE.  You nev
er factored in this electoral college.   I was 18 at the time, and it was my first time voting and I had no clue about the EC.  I soon learned.  Fast forward to present time, the more and more I hear this rhetoric about voting, I’m like, what’s the big emphasis on it, if someone else is going to decide for me.  I woke up this morning and saw the EC struck again.

It’s clear Hilary (why do we address her by her first name vs last?) won the popular vote, but not the EC.  I don’t agree with that.  Even if the tables would have been turned, I would have felt the same way.  You mean to tell me, every election has to be a landslide for it to be fair?  I do not agree with that.  My fellow Americans should not cast the blame on other Americans who did not vote.  They’re probably replaying the 2oo0 election in their head as well and just gave up because they know of the EC.  If we were playing a game of basketball and I won by a 5 points, you mean to tell me the ref is going to tell me I lost because I should have won by 25?  What sense does that make?  Absolutely zero to me.

I believe we need to be clear on what we promote and who we promote it to from here on out.  Stop blaming other Americans who chose not to vote, because the decline in voting has been happening for years.  That’s not the issue.  The issue is the EC.  What am I going to do about it?  Haven’t thought that far to be honest.  I am writing this post because I felt led to address the promotion of fear mongering a vote.  There were many people who fought and died for many rights for all Americans to have in this country.  The people who want to use that fear tactic to try to get people to vote is just wrong.  Look at what voting did.  The majority did not win.  You see the numbers.   It’s time to address the real issue here.

Do not tell me, promote, or suggest to others to vote unless YOU, yes, YOU the person has had a hand in removing the Electoral College. Until then, shut up and KEEP IT MOVIN! I don’t wanna hear that your vote matter non sense. I don’t care if someone won by 1 vote or 1 million, the bottom line, whoever has more should win. Once again, I am not mad about who won or who lost. It shouldn’t have to be a landslide for your vote to really mean something. Just never ever ever ever ever tell someone just to VOTE if you’re not involved in removing the electoral college for someone else’s vote to truly matter.

  1. I’m a little confused by this post. You start out with the title WHY I DIDN’T VOTE FOR HILARY, then it sounds like you did? Maybe it’s just me but I can’t tell by the way this is written. Personally, I voted for Hillary Clinton because I thought that she was the best (wo)MAN for the job. Her resume’ says it all and so did her opponents. There is so much more that I can say about the candidate who was elected but I’m afraid that all of those comments would be scrutinized by the secret service (they must all be negative, huh?)

    1. I’m sorry I didn’t see this until now. I’m having issues with my comment section but I appreciate your feedback. Yes I did title it WHY I DIDN’T VOTE FOR HILARY, but I did state WHY I DID vote for her. I voted for her because I felt she was the right choice. I felt she earned her spot. I titled it that way because I wanted to make it clear that wasn’t voting against someone by voting for her. It was an angled approach lol. I appreciate your feedback and thank you so much for your feedback!
