You ever been minding your own business then all of a sudden you think WTF?!!!? When the thought hits you, it’s like you’re blindsided. You want answers. WHERE’S THE FOOD?!!!? When hunger strikes beware! That’s how I am. Once I get really hungry, I get hangry (hungry + angry).
Being on any diet the most discouraging feeling is the feeling of hunger. You can be on day one of your diet and the moment hunger strikes, you feel the diet isn’t working. I’m telling you this from personal experience.
When hunger does strike, try and make the best choice you can. Really think about the healthy way to satisfy your hunger. You don’t want all of your hard work that you’ve made go to “waist” by an emotional choice.
You don’t want to get to the point where you keep making these bad choices just because you’re hungry. Really think things through before making an irrational decision.
Know your body. If you document and track what times of the day you eat for a few days, by the fourth day you should see a pattern. So by the fifth day you’ll be able to anticipate when you’ll be hungry. The thing is, once you have this information it is up to you to prepare yourself with healthy eating option so you won’t sabbotage your diet. If you’re not able to eat at these times you’re hungry, try to eat a heartier meal prior to that window of time. If you’re not able to do that, chew some double mint gum. It curves my appetite for at least 20-30 minutes. Try it and let me know how it works for you.
